The repertoire of the dramatic mezzo-soprano
Cornelia Helfricht includes parts such as BRANGÄNE and
VENUS, AMNERIS and EBOLI, CARMEN
and DIDON. After her brilliant debuts with these central
roles at the Opera Leipzig, she now performs these parts at
the international opera houses.
She was repeatedly invited at the Royal Opera Stockholm
( CARMEN, OCTAVIAN, VENUS an in autumn 2004 BRANGÄNE).
she won acclaim from both critics and audience as DIDON
in the new production of 'Les Troyens' at the Leipzig Opera
House, as WALTRAUTE in a Wagner-Gala concert an in January
2005 as MARGUERITE in La Damnation de Faust. Cornelia
Helfricht, a pupil of Astrid Varnay, also made a big impression
as VENUS at the Nationaloper Mannheim, in a gala-performance
at the Castle Neuschwanstein, in Linz and at the Opera
Dortmund. Moreover, international guest appearances took
her as PRINCIPESSA (Suor Angelica) to the Opera
House Graz (2004), as the COMPOSER to the Opera
House Nizza, to the National Opera House in Helsinki
and the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari (ORLOFSKY in
"Die Fledermaus"), the Volksoper Wien (CARMEN),
the Teatro de la Maestranza (OCTAVIAN under the
baton of Ralf Weikert), the Deutsche Oper Berlin
and the Komische Oper Berlin, to name several,
as well as to various festivals such as the Irish Wexford Festival
where she appeared as the KÖNIGIN in "Die Königin von
Saba" and the Festival St. Margarethen, where she was AMNERIS
(2004). |
